Since many years now, it has become customary for my family to spend the first day of January visiting the village temple and then head to Ganga Talao.

openSUSE community elects Axel, Gertjan and Neal to serve on the Board

openSUSE members were called to vote in the Regular Board Election on 15 December 2020. Five candidates ran in this election for three available seats.

Developers Conference 2021 - Call for Speakers announced

DevCon 2021 is happening. Save the dates; 18, 19 & 20 March 2021. After having to resort to a virtual conference this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the DevCon 2021 physical conference will be a much awaited event on the island.

DevFest 2020 at Uniciti Mauritius

The GDG DevFest 2020 happened on the Saturday 21st November in Mauritius. It was the first physical tech event after the confinement. We hope that the pandemic situation improves and that we have more of such events on the island.

The openSUSE Regular Board Election has been announced for the 15th of December 2020. Results will be published on the new year's eve, i.e 31st December. Call for nominations and applications for the openSUSE Board candidacy is now open.

Creator of the Python programming language, Guido van Rossum joins Microsoft, after retirement

Guido joined Google in 2005 and was ranked Senior Staff Engineer. He worked for Dropbox as a Principal Engineer from 2013 until 2019 when he announced his retirement.
